Academic Achievement

The academic achievement indicator measures the percentage of students performing on grade level on state assessments as well as the improvement in this percentage from one year to the next. A student is considered on grade level if he or she scores on track or mastered on state exams, known as TNReady or TCAP. For 2021, the TCAP participation rates were used to determine whether letter grades were issued to schools. Additional reporting on participation rate can help in understanding which students are represented in the Academic Achievement and Student Growth pages (click here for more information on participation rate).
