Finance
Below you will find district-level finance information updated to reflect the 2020-21 school year. Included on this page are per-pupil expenditures, expenditures over time, and expenditures by federal, state, and local funding sources. COVID-19 has impacted Tennessee school districts in different ways; some districts may have received less local funding than they expected, even if state and federal funding were not impacted.
2020-21 finance information for schools will be made available at a later date.
Per-pupil Expenditures
The per-pupil expenditure indicator is defined as the amount of spending per pupil by a district or school over the course of the entire fiscal year. We calculate per-pupil expenditures by dividing expenditures over the academic year by students enrolled. Below you will find per-pupil expenditure figures, as well as additional per-pupil expenditure information at the district and state level.
